First FOCUS Meeting - Sat., February 13th @ 4pm

The Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in the United States (FOCUS) is a ministry of the
Diocese of Southwest America of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, and focuses
on cultivating and educating adults, leading them to the likeness of God and the fullness
of the Faith. The purpose of this ministry is to facilitate and encourage transformation
in all aspects of a person’s life as they become more active in the body of Christ.

Sunday School Centralized Written Competitions - Sun., October 18th

The Sunday School Centralized Written Competitions will be held Sunday, October 18th.  The competition topics and guidelines are below for your reference.  The drawing competition will be from 9am - 9:45am so please arrive early.  All the other categories will be held after the Holy Qurbana. Please use the link below to register your child(ren) before Sunday, October 4th.  No additions to the registration will be made after October 3rd to give diocesan coordinators time to prepare for the competition.   If you have any questions, please contact Mathew Varughese, Principal.

As previously announced, our church convention will be held during the below dates.  Our chief guest is renowned speaker Rev. Fr. Dr. Varghese Varghese.  Please don’t miss this opportunity to hear the valuable message from achen.  We encourage all our families to attend and pass the details to your friends from other churches and welcome them to participate.

SUNDAY SCHOOL RESTARTS - Sun., September 13th 

The 2015-16 Sunday School Year will begin on Sunday, September 13th at 9am.  Please plan to bring your children on time.  If you would like to enroll your child, or If you have any questions, please contact Mathew Varughese, Principal.

HARVEST DAY - Sun., September 13th 

Harvest Day will be celebrated on Sunday, September 13th after the Holy Qurbana. We request all our families to participate and bring any items harvested at your home or wish to donate.

Convention 2015 - Aug 21-23

Our church convention will be held from Friday, August 21 to Sunday, August 23rd ending with Holy Qurbana.  Our chief guest will be the renowned speaker, Rev. Fr. Dr. Varghese Varghese, who is visiting the United States.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Varghese Varghese, is a priest of the Kottayam Diocese. Achen's home parish is at St. George Church, Meenadom, Kottayam. Achen completed his Seminary education at the Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam and was ordained as a priest of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in 1995.  After completing his Master’s degree in both English and Syriac languages from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, Achen earned his PhD from M.G University in Syriac Literature Studies.  Achen is a renowned speaker, and former General Secretary of MGOCSM India. Achen is the Vicar at St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Pangada, Kottayam and also serves as the Lecturer in Ancient linguistics at St. Ephrem Research Institute (SEERI).  Achen's past positions are: PRO and Media Secretary of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church from 2006-2009 and OCYM General Secretary of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church from 2003-2007.

OVBS - July 31 - August 2

The 2015 OVBS will be held at our church from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 2. Please mark your calendars and register your children using the link below.  The fees for OVBS is $25/child which includes materials and a t-shirt. Please make sure to register early and select the t-shirt size for each child so we can order them ahead of time otherwise we won't have it in time. If you would like to sponsor lunch or snacks, please contact Mathew Varughese.
